For some reason the rest timer paused at 52 seconds and have been like that for over 2 minutes.

Happened 7 times in 2 hours and about 20 sets

It was inconstant, so i can't honestly day what exactly must be done to reproduce..
But I'll keep an eye out in the future.

I encountered that a few times. I think some background activity being (low-memory-)killed is the reason in my case.

It is. In my experience, it happens when I open a heavier app (e.g. WhatsApp, or a browser with multiple open tabs) or do something in it while I rest. It also becomes more likely if I haven't rebooted my phone for a few days.
I'll use v2.9 for the rest of the week to see if it mitigates the issue.
